Description
Case with multicoloured enamel painting on white background: Venus and Adonis, after Rubens; a butterfly with eight rubies covers the face; landscapes painted on the inside and on the face; instead of the previously usual gut string, the watch works with a silver chain and is probably one of the earliest examples in which this novelty - invented in 1650 - was used; signed: "M. Wentzel A Strasbourg".
