Description
Standing Dutchman in the costume of the XVIIth century with slit upper skirt, bloomers, long stockings and shoes; the head is covered by a large wig, on top of it a round hat, from the top of which hangs a peacock feather; the hands hold a Japanese baby.
Provenance
Acquired in 1908 by Herbert Ginsberg in Japan; 1908 to 1942 Ostasiatica Collection Herbert Ginsberg, Berlin; confiscated by the SD in Rotterdam in 1942.
