Flagellation of Christ
Possibly. it is the inner wing relief of a smaller Passion altar. Relief was carved out of several glued boards; the visible colored version is largely baroque or modern. The depiction shows the Flagellation of Christ by four men in torture, closing with a curtain; on the right the recalcified flagellum, on which Christ is chained as a full body figure, his arms tied behind his back, occupying about one third of the surface; the remaining left-hand side of the picture is filled with four figures, three of them as torturers, one on the top left as overseer; the parallel folds especially on the cloth of Christ are typical feature for the master of Ottobeuren; Relief was set in polychromed frame after late Gothic model.
