DEAL - Distributors of European art legacy - Finland as relocation region of Nazi-looted art

Scientific research project DEAL, "Distributors of European art legacy - Finland as relocation region of Nazi-looted art", has been started in the Department of Arts and Culture Studies and the Department of History and Ethnology at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, in 2001.

The main task of the DEAL-project is to clarify the routes to Finland and the acquiring of art works with gaps in provenances between 1933 and 1945. Research concentrates on Finnish public art collections' foreign art works with gaps in provenance. The project collects together the provenance information and acts as reporting institution for Finnish museums.
