This item was loaned during World War II by the Jewish Museum of Amsterdam to the Stedelijk Museum for safeguard, but was nevertheless confiscated by the Nazi regime.
After the war, the item was found by the Allies and reached the Wiesbaden Central Collecting Point, and in 1950 the Jewish Restitution Successor Organization (JRSO) sent it to the Bezalel National Museum, precursor of The Israel Museum, Jerusalem.
In 2024 the Israel Museum restituted it to the Jewish Cultural Quarter, Amsterdam.
