Description
Four curved, sloping slender legs, which merge into the curved sides. They hold a slightly recessed bottom drawer, about it two smaller with centerpiece. In this lies the central lock for all subjects. On all sides inlaid rhombs decor. The front is little convex, the sides are drawn in. Curved, profiled marble slab. Strong gilt bronze handles and hinges in Rocailleform in the middle of the wall and on the shoulders.
Signed on the body with punch: crown, among them "BV" (Château Royal de Bellevue, Louis XV between St. Cloud and Meudon for Madame Pompadour built), twice: "JME" (urande of Meunisiers- ébénistes, control mark of the Paris carpenters' guild). Signed: C. Cressent
