Description
Nude woman sitting on a chair with her right leg bent over. Title: left of the chair: "Elfriede ... Karlsruher Str. 28" (red chalk); down right: "Lovis Corinth 1918" (pencil). Verso: adhesive label with blue stencilled number "15", above it label with typewritten Designation "F. Gi. Lovis Corinth, Aktstudie, ...". The price "150,-" has been handwritten on the bottom line.
Provenance
In September 1943 the OFP Hessen in Darmstadt transferred the money to the Painting Gallery and the Museum of Antiquities of the city of Mainz. The tax office identification number "F. Gi. allows the hypothesis that the print was confiscated by the Giessen tax office.
