Inscription backside canvas: Ian Breughel.

Transverse rectangular painting, oil painting, canvas on stretcher frame with more recent decorative frame.

It depicts a northern landscape with woods, rocky hills, watercourses and settlements in the tradition of Flemish landscape painting. The Holy Family can be seen as a staffage fleeing to Egypt.
