Description
In front of the entrance of a rocky cave Volcano sits at its anvil, in the left hand the flashing tongs. Behind him, the grotto illuminated by the fire is visible, in which a half-naked journeyman is at work. Jupiter with eagle, Venus and Cupid hover over it on their Wolkenthron. Jupiter holds a shield, which on a blue ground shows the mirror monogram of the prince-bishop Johann Philipp Franz Count von Schönborn and therefore the inscription: MAGIS IPSO FULMINE TERRET (by himself he frightens more than by the lightning). To the left of Venus, her cloud-carriages, on which the beating pigeons sit. Framed by 6 emblematic representations, in between weapons and trophies. Below the blackboard: IOHANNES PHILIPPUS FRANCISCUS DES HEIL. RÖM. REICHES GRAFEN VON SCHÖNBORN, HERRN ZU REICHELBERG. DOMPROBSTEN ZU WÜRZBURG DOMKAPITULATEN ZU MAYNZ UND PROBSTEN ZU ST. BARTHOLOMAEI IN FRANKFURTH. CHUR. MAYNZISCHEN GEHEIMEN RATH. (unsigned)
