Herd of cows with herdsman in a landscape
On the right in the foreground, next to a path leading to the right into a forest, a group of oaks. On the left, a river, on the far bank of which there are buildings that get lost with the river in the background. On the bank on this side, in the middle ground, a ruined castle in a park-like, bushy wooded landscape, behind it a rocky mountain massif. On the path a herdsman in a red doublet, blue knee breeches and white stockings herds four cattle before him. Late afternoon atmosphere. Blue sky with clouds. Inscribed lower right: B. C. Koekkoek.
