Ilmenauer Kux [Anteilsschein am Ilmenauer Kupfer- und Silber-Bergwerk] Nr. 214 für Karl Alexander von Kalb auf Kalbsrieth, 24. Febr. 1784.
The former Weimar Chamber President Carl Alexander von Kalb on Kalbsrieth had acquired the Kux on February 24, 1784.
On July 25, 1940, the Weimar NSDAP Lord Mayor Otto Koch sent the Director of the Goethe National Museum Hans Wahl the personally signed by Goethe and Christian Gottlob Voigt Kux.
A »kindly sergeant named Schüler«, who was based in Versailles, had discovered the document in his quarters, a villa »owned by a Jew« hanging on a wall. »Assuming that this was much better off in Weimar« he had taken it and sent it to the Lord Mayor of the Classic City. He handed the sheet to Hans Wahl with a request »to incorporate the same into the Goethe National Museum«.
More detailed information about the consignor and the place of collection has not been handed down.
