Plate II from "Historische und architektonische Merkwürdigkeiten von Mainz in seiner Vorzeit und Gegenwart herausgegeben in der Lithographie von D. Wasserburg in 35 Lieferungen, Mainz 1842". Designation at lower right: "J.C. Meyer bei Herrn Wasserburg"; inscribed in the middle at lower right: "Die Ruine der Liebfrauenkirche zu Mainz". Without passepartout. On the back pencil note "88/996" (probably an identification number of the tax office Mainz-Stadt)
Provenance
Presumably in 1941/42 the tax office of Mainz transferred it to the copperplate engraving collection of the Gemäldegalerie der Stadt Mainz. (The dating of the transfer is not completely secured, as it is only handed down by a typewritten list, which was compiled in 1943 and dated back to 1941/42 in handwriting). There are no indications of pre-provenance.
