Lumberjacks in the winter, loading tree trunks
The painting shows woodcutters in a winter forest landscape. In the foreground, three woodcutters in dark clothing are depicted in the right part of the painting, who are lifting up three large tree trunks. Behind them are two horses with carts in the left part of the picture. In the background, stacked wood and bare trees can be seen at the left edge of the picture. The title of the work is "Schneegestöber im Forst" as well as "Holzfäller im Winter, Baumstämme verladend".
The work is signed "Herm. Kauffmann", but not dated.
