Description
The richly decorated lattice shell shows a view of Hardenberg Castle on the bottom. It has no porcelain mark. The decoration with ivy vines refers to the porcelain manufactory Carl Tielsch in Altwasser, today Stary Zdrój in Poland. In the 1850s, numerous porcelain painters from Göttingen obtained cups and plates from this manufactory and then painted them with Göttingen motifs.
Provenance
On April 8, 1941 the Städtisches Museum Göttingen received this porcelain bowl. To date there is no indication of how the object came to the museum, nor to whom it originally belonged. The porcelain bowl has no ownership mark or stamp.
