The tavern room (also: tavern scene)
Eleven people in an inn with a fireplace on the right and a window in the background doing various activities: At a table in the centre a man reading, with a standing man looking over his shoulder, a smoker and one with a wine glass; at the front left a smoker with raised cup on a box next to a barrel, behind him a standing man with folded arms. On the right, someone brings a glass of wine to a seated old man. In the background three men, one with a helmet. Inscription on the reverse with wax crayon "2", "10" and a sticker "33".
Acquired on 13 November 1943 in Paris at the Art Shop Maurice Lagrand.
Research has shown that this object was imported from Paris after the occupation of France.
