Description
To the left of the Gießbach stream, which flows from the centre of the picture over two rock steps and bright spray towards the front, there is a wooden hut with a mill wheel above large boulders, whose smoke plume, like the green-brown fir thicket and the grey-brown clouds above it, show thunderstorm wind. On the right, above nearby shrubbery and a middle fir backdrop (lots of brown), two rocky peaks with a still clear sky and clouds already gathering. Centre: Cloud storm over green shrubbery in the storm. Inscribed at lower right: ALier 69 [A and L in ligature].
