Description
Below the burning castle on the half-left, lansquenets take up quarters in front of poor farmhouses on the edge of the village. One is standing at attention in front of the signal trumpeter, two are dismounted, the sutler's wife is handing the tankard to the man sitting by the ditch, on the right a shepherd is driving some sheep, above the plain. On the left the still saddled fox drinks at the Fountain, above tree and the manor. Inscribed half right below: A. Friedlaender.
