Description

Adam sits on a rock and looks up to the right. With his left hand he holds Eve. She sits kneeling beside him, leaning her lowered head on his right hand. In front of both, on the ground is the snake.

Provenance

1890 gift from the artist. Inventory ZV 458-2814 (1886-1919 / 20). Not listed in the inventory in 1950. Loan on 02.11.1925 at the Ministry of Justice.
