Description
Apollo with bow and quiver on his back, draped in a fluttering cloth; he holds the lyre in his left hand and a column with a burning lens on top in his right hand; the pedestal made from amber; the figurine might have been used as a lighter.
Provenance
The object was a birthday gift to duke Frederick II of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg from his wife, Magdalena Auguste.
