Description
according to Strobl's catalogue of works, no. 3451: Arms and hands, black chalk on cardboardlike paper; Monogr. left below: "G.K.", inscribed. "R"; Beethovenfries 1902 (Novotny-Dobai No. 127); detailed studies for the hands of the kneeling man in "Die Leiden der schwachen Menschheit" as well as for those of "Unkeuschheit".
300 draft sketches were sold to August Lederer in 1915 together with the Beethoven Frieze from Reininghaus, and most of them bear the monogram "R" for the Reininghaus Collection.
