Provenance
Eduard Fuchs Collection acquired after 1924 [In the volume "Tang-Plastik", p. 12 it is still clearly formulated that this sculpture was then in other private ownership]; 25.10.1933 confiscation by the Gestapo; forced sale (payment of Reichsfluchtsteuer) by his daughter Gertraud Fuchs: Auction House Rudolph Lepke Berlin; Catalogue 2115, p. 12 - on 15.10 and 16.10.1937 this sculpture was auctioned under No. 113: "GROSSES PFERD mit Sattel, rechtes Vorderbein erhoben; weißlichgrauer Scherben, unglasiert, mit Spuren von roter Bemalung. Lg. 65, H. 58 cm. Tang. (Abb. Tafel 2)“. In the Lepke catalog, however, it was set up differently (without the rider's staircase) than the clay figure that had been depicted in Fuchs. This also explains the different size. The object found no buyer (estimated price: 750,- RM); whereabouts unknown
