Description
The casket is covered with little mother-of-pearl plates and decorated with chased, silver gilt reliefs. The corner fittings show river deities, sea creatures, masks and angels' heads, the handles and the lock are decorated with lions' heads; the corner fittings of the lid show recumbent female figures in oval cartouches; the feet are made of four sirens, each with four tails.
