Description
Louis XVI, Paris. Large chest of drawers made of jacaranda, straight shape. The middle of the front side bulged, the front parts with three rectangular fields - rue fields and symmetrical leaf motifs. Marquetry in lighter and darker jacarande, dark on a light background. At the corners of the fields four buttons of gilded bronze. The two large drawers, which are not designated under construction, with key signs and bronze handles. Over these three small drawers with bronze fittings in the form of garlands. The side walls worked in the same way as the central field. Corner fittings with wreath decoration. At the end of the central projection bronze cartridge: Mask of Mercury with winged helmet and clothes, about two snakes. Four curved feet with bronze in paw shape. The tabletop brown marble, with some red and teal. Signed on the wood under the marble top right and left twice: "I.F. Leleu".
