Description
Coaster of a tureen with "Prussian musical" décor and red scale pattern
The coaster has a wavy, strongly curved lip and 2 rocaille handles, the center is painted with an iron red Indian flower branch. The rims of the tureen, lid and coaster each show 6 gold outlined rocaille cartouches between iron-red-gold scales with groups of astronomical equipment, flowers and musical instruments in flat relief, the so-called "preußisch musikalische Dessin".
Friedrich Elias Meyer (1723 - 1785) (probably model); Karl Jakob Christian Klipfel (1726 -1802) (probably painting).
