Description
Cupid drawing his bow, on a square pedestal; bow and arrow (missing) made from brass; both wings are broken off.
Provenance
Lost in 1945 from one of the stored boxes in the princely crypt, while the other three figures of the ensemble were confiscated by the Red Army and initially transported to the Soviet Union. In 1950 the putto was offered by the Hamburg art dealer Kurt Nass and acquired by the St. Annen Museum in Lübeck for 400 DM. On October 1, 2020, the figure was returned to the Foundation Schloss Friedenstein Gotha.
