Description
A cavalier in Masonic costume sits next to a lady at a small table with chocolate dishes. His left hand is on her left shoulder, his right hand is reaching for the chocolate cup on the table. The lady holds her cup to the cavalier's mouth. A pug with a red and gold collar rests on her lap. The couple sits on profiled white architectural pieces. The cavalier in gold-bordered white lap skirt, colorful flowered vest, black trousers and buckled shoes. Around the waist a blue-bordered straw-yellow apron fur; under the right arm a gold-bordered black tricorn, on the chest the golden angle as a master sign. At the bottom the trowel. The woman in round pleated bonnet with purple ribbon, yellow dressing gown with white inside, purple gold bordure dress with colorful flower bouquet pattern and yellow shoes. The octagonal table white and gold, the chocolate pot, saucer and cup with purple flowers and gold rims. Oval white base with applied polychrome flowers and green leaves. [...] Swords mark. Model by Kändler, completed November 1744. Mold number 610. [...] The decoration late 19th century outside the workshop.
