History of loss: According to a letter from the Lübben Cultural Office to the Ministry of National Education of the Prov. Reg. Mark Brandenburg dated 25 January 1947, a further inspection by the Soviet Military Administration Potsdam and Cottbus (SMA Potsdam and Cottbus) took place on 7 January 1947. Of the literature stored and reported separately since the beginning of October 1946, 16 works totalling 76 volumes were confiscated. The confiscation on 7 January 1947 was carried out by Prof. Posner on behalf of a lieutenant colonel of the SMA Potsdam and a lieutenant from the Cottbus district headquarters accompanying him. According to a letter dated 01. March 1947, 181 volumes of provided literature were taken over by Lieutenant Koslow on 28. February 1947. The goods were sent by rail on the same day. According to the commandant's office, the recipient of the confiscated books was: State Central Archive of the USSR for Military History, Moscow Vtoraja Baumanskaja 3.
