Description
Standing, with long hair falling down her back. She holds the naked baby boy in her hands, on a cloth whose corners the child has grasped. Linden wood, flattened on the back, but worked through. The lower part of the figure has been smoothed away. According to Swzarzenski, this is the work of Tilmann Riemenschneider himself, which served as a model for a series of ‘Riemenschneider figures’.
