Description
Part of a service. High cups with curved rim and folded gilded ear handle. On the front side of the cups, on the well of the saucers [...] a baroque heraldic cartouche with foliage and grotesque mask in gold and purple. The heart-shaped red shield covered with rwhite, stepped diagonal bars (stairs, probably coat of arms of the Gradenigi). On the outside of the cups surrounding colorful landscape frieze with walkers and horsemen, resp. a seascape with sailing ships, merchants and skippers next to bales of goods and barrels. On the saucers below the coat of arms there is a sea scenery with merchants and camel leaders, or landscape with a fort, horsemen and donkey drivers. [...] Close to the foot of the lower bowls three iron red circle lines. [...] Swords marks on cups and saucers [...] Gold-painting marks: Four golden dots. On the cups impressed 6, on the one saucer 2, on the other two stars.
