Description
Engraved coat of arms: Joseph Anton Gabaleon von Wackerbarth-Salmour, adoptive son of the count Wackerbarth s. u. (1685 - 1761); inscription under a five-pointed crown: Sidus amicum; on the reverse: Odi quod mihi fieri nolim. Counterpart with the inscription: Magnificentia / Domini August Christoph / S. R. J. Comitis de Wackerbart; on the reverse a star and: Dux et Tutamen. Date mark 1719. The inscription names the general field marshal, general director of the building industry, governor and minister August Christoph von Wackerbarth (1662 - 1734). Marked on the base with a Dresden assay mark and the maker's mark of the goldsmith Samuel Gaudig.
Provenance
Until May 1945, the object was kept in the Dresden City Hall (seat of the Dresden City Museum). It was stored there together with the other handicraft exhibits of the museum - packed in boxes - in the cellar. Lost since the end of the war.
