Purple-Grounded Baluster Vase
Shape:
Flat base, the outer edge slightly rounded upwards, concave foot ends cylindrically below an elongated baluster-shaped body; slightly tapering neck strongly protruding towards the lip.
Décor:
Violet grounded base and neck with multi-edged, high-oval fields, small chinoiseries against a white background inside; the baluster is bordered at the top and below with a rich gold border; Chinese figures against a white background on a less differentiated ground zone; decoration on the baluster: a Chinese man with an umbrella and a child are standing in a garden indicated by flowering plants and fences, both looking at a bird flying above them, the umbrella is directed against the bird.
Manufacturer's mark: underglaze blue AR monogram.
