Description
Shape:
Conical body with profiled lip on a slender, convex foot; conical cover with pine cone knob on a profiled base; two volute handles with female heads; large semi-circular firing crack (according to photo cardboard).
Décor:
Base, handle, lip and knob unpainted; sea-green ground on the on the outside and the cover with quatrefoil cartouches, earth zone with bent flowering branches and flying bird; on the lid rice straw fence with prunus blossom branches (cherry blossom branches) and butterfly; pine cone knob and handle with coloured decoration; gold stripes over the base and on the cover's lip.
Comment:
The cover shown on the historical photo is preserved: SKD, porcelain collection, inv. no. PE 5285; dimensions: h. 13.4 cm, d. 18.2 cm.
Provenance
Dresden Castle, tower room; the collection of porcelain, together with the carpets, furnishings from the porcelain gallery and scientific material (10 boxes), was relocated to 16 different locations in a total of 1211 boxes. The relocation sites, some of which were castles and manor houses, served as refugee accommodation after 1945. As part of the collection was later offered for sale by private individuals or found in private estates, it is assumed that some of the losses were due to looting and destruction. According to the loss report for the porcelain collection from 1991, a partial transport to the Soviet Union cannot be ruled out.

Vorbild, großer, halbkreisförmiger Brandriß, keine Schwerter, Meißner Porzellan, III 302, Höhe: 33 cm, Durchmesser (Breite): 25,5 cm. (Turmzimmer, vormal. Residenzschloß Dresden)."
