Description
The saint stands facing right, holding a long taper candle in her left hand; with her right hand, she gathers her floor-length garment; her loose hair falls in several twisted strands over both shoulders; on her head the saint is wearing a twisted wreath (made of hair?); the ground is covered with stones and the background is dark.
Provenance
Acquired after 1934 from Heinemann, Wiesbaden; restored at A. Unger, Dresden (April 15, 1935). Still extant in 1944 (1944 inventory, p. 409); current location: Pushkin Museum Moscow, object 101044, no. ЭЖ-919 ("female figure with a candle," 142 x 57 cm).
