Summer day. Four vagabonds in a defiant position, armed with knifes, have surrounded a young man in broad arches. This, the revolver in his hand, covers his back against a long brick wall, brightly lit by the sun. Along this wall, which runs from left to right into the picture, a sandy footpath runs and to the right of the latter a wooden fence. Sparse grass color. Sun from the right. Brick wall lightly blown. Juicy green grass in foreground. Bright blue sky. The figures are used in clay. The left-hand man, wearing a blue blouse, is wearing a military cap with red stripes. Signed to the right: M.
