Teapot with gold Chinese décor
Teapot with gold chinoiseries
Pressed ball-shaped body with high convex cover, gilded dragon head spout, counter curved gilded handle and concave, profiled gilded neck. On the body two gold-etched chinoiseries, on the cover three gold-etched birds on branches, décor probably out off manufacture, socalled "Augsburger Hausmalerei" (according to an old index card around 1730/35 and St. Petersburg, around 1760). The rim of the vessel and the cover are decorated with C-scrolls and arrowheads. Probably from the same service as inv. no. 1902.632 c,d).
However, these pieces - like inv. no. 1906.218 a, b) could possibly be style copies made in St. Petersburg.
Décor around 1730; without mark.
