Provenance
Still in the museum in 1943 (catalog 1943, p. 258); current location: Pushkin Museum Moscow, objects 101064, 1010177, nos. ЭЖ-978 ("German Master, Double Portrait of Duke Frederick William of Saxony and Duchess Sophie of Saxony," 65 x 29 cm), 977 ("German Master, 16th century, Double Portrait," 65 x 29.5 cm). The central part of the triptych (Inv.No. SG 4) had returned from the Soviet Union in 1958.
