Description

Shape:

flared base, outer edge slightly tapering upwards, above it a bulbous body with narrow, flat shoulder; cylindrical neck; flat, bell-shaped cover with projecting lip and mushroom-shaped knob.

Décor:

on a stylized rock, grows a gnarled branch with flowers and blossoms in indian style; on the main branch hangs to the left, a colorful bird with a long tail feather and a long beak; unpainted shoulder; the neck is contrasted by a gold line and small flowers; on the cover an indian flower bouquet; a broad and a very slender gold line; gilded knob tip; at the foot a surrounding floral ornamental edge between two lines.

Provenance
Dresden Castle, tower room; the collection of porcelain, together with the carpets, furnishings from the porcelain gallery and scientific material (10 boxes), was relocated to 16 different locations in a total of 1211 boxes. The relocation sites, some of which were castles and manor houses, served as refugee accommodation after 1945. As part of the collection was later offered for sale by private individuals or found in private estates, it is assumed that some of the losses were due to looting and destruction. According to the loss report for the porcelain collection from 1991, a partial transport to the Soviet Union cannot be ruled out.

Höhe ohne Deckel: 27 cm, Durchmesser: ca. 16,5 cm.
