Description

Shape:

So-called ginger jar; footless, oval body with horizontal shoulder; short neck; flat cover without knob.

Décor:

Four white oval fields on yellow ground, famille verte style decoration, in the cartouche: waters with indicated shore and lush aquatic plants, among them lotus leaves, in the water a bird swimming and a bird pushing down from above, a clearly recognizable, circumferential ridge shortly (ca. 2 cm) above the foot ring; the cover probably bears two fan-shaped famille verte style fields with flowering branches above an earth zone

Manufacturer's mark: underglaze blue AR monogram
