Purchased from the art dealer Julius Böhler, Munich, on 24.3.1939 for 18,000 RM. The art dealer Julius Böhler purchased this painting from Rudolf Leitner, Vienna, on 2.12.1938 for 7,500 RM. (Cf. Rudolf Leitner, Vienna, *14.3.1867, was an academic painter and Yugoslav citizen according to his own statement. He was married to Marie Leitner, * 14.3.1867, née Bondy. Rudolf Leitner was of Jewish origin and had to report his assets or sales to the Vermögensverkehrsstelle in Vienna. He sold the above mentioned paintings a few months before his emigration to Lausanne/Switzerland.
