Description
Portrait of a woman, 3/4 view, almost the whole figure, dress with scaly armour-like corsage, decorated with gemstones, 3/4 sleeves on the right arm, short sleeves on the left arm, in her right hand she holds a cloth (a flag, a shawl, a cloak), in her left hand she holds a staff, Carmen neckline, shoulders free, hat (like a helmet, knight) with feathers, a pearl necklace around her neck
Provenance
Possibly part of the auction of the Dr. M. Waldeck collection; auction at Amsler & Ruthard on 14 February 1887 and the following days, sale to "Harrwitz"; auction at Rudolph Lepke's auction house, Berlin, on 14 March 1905, sale to "Greve"; probably during the war, at the latest since 9 July 1945 until today Lippische Landesbibliothek Detmold, initially handed over in trust by the British Military Government Detmold, since 20 July 1945 officially handed over for safekeeping.
