Recto: lower right in pencil signature "WKlemm 1917", lower left in pencil "Eisarbeit 1917", lower right in pencil inv. no. "VI b/52/389", "47/1961"; verso: lower right in pencil "51006/H[?]".
Provenance
20.10.1951: acquired from the art antiquarian Reinhold Puppel, Quedlinburg (formerly Hollstein & Puppel, Berlin). It is not known when and from whom Reinhold Puppel acquired the print. It cannot be ruled out that the print belonged to the old stock of the aryanised art shop Hollstein & Puppel. Reinhold Puppel deliberately traded in cultural property that had been confiscated as a result of Nazi persecution.
