Mechanism

Ostrau Manor, 1945. 40 pianos, 22 wind instruments, 8 plucked instruments, 11 string instruments, 2 music boxes, 1 house organ and 8 sculptures were to be returned from Ostrau to Halle on 21 May 1946. The return transport was stopped. On 30 January 1946, it was decided that instruments from the Handel Museum would be transported away by the Red Army together with other cultural assets.
