History of loss: The Will Collection was stored in Hohenburg (district of Amberg-Sulzbach) in 1944/45 in the dance hall of a pub, which served as a canteen for the Americans after April 1945. Around 55 numbers were found to be missing during an inspection in 1952. At least some of the books were stolen from the relocation site. This is at least suggested by the fact that two volumes from the Will collection turned up in American antiquarian bookshops in 1996.
