Description

Bronze group; comparable sculpture in marble in the Nationalgalerie Berlin and in plaster in the Musèe Royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique, Brussels (see comparative illustration).

Provenance

Presumably owned by Regierungsrat A. Sommerguth, Villa Warmbrunner Str. 14/16, Berlin-Grunewald since 1912 (purchase from the artist's estate), compulsory sale of the property to the Kassenärztliche Vereinigung Deutschlands in 1939, bronze sculpture remained on the property, further whereabouts unknown
