Provenance
Karl and Emilie Adler, Munich, until January and March 1939 respectively; valuation of the ‘removal goods’ of Emilie Adler, Munich by Hugo Ruef, auction house, Munich, 16 January 1939; whereabouts unknown of at least two portraits, since March 1939. A confiscation as a result of Nazi persecution cannot be ruled out.
