After the occupation of Berlin, the library of the Reichsanstalt was removed from the building by Soviet military personnel. During the investigation, it was initially mistakenly assumed that the library had been destroyed by bombing during the war. There is verbal evidence that some of the holdings may be located in the library of the Timiryazev Academy in Moscow.
