Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum
About the institution
In the course of provenance research at the Tiroler Landesmuseum (Tyrolean Provincial Museum) Ferdinandeum, an attempt is being made to determine the origin of 14 paintings (some by Albin Egger-Lienz) that were brought to safety at Friedberg Castle during the war by Gauleiter Franz Hofer as Supreme Commissioner of the Alpine Foreland Operations Zone and inventoried at the Ferdinandeum in 1951 as loans from the Province of Tyrol. These are published on the homepage of the Tyrolean Provincial Museums www.tiroler-landesmuseen.at as objects of questionable origin. In order to obtain further information, the findings to date on this collection will also be published in this way.
