Description
Behind a dark, brown-green foreground, a lady on horseback, accompanied by a gesticulating cavalier. Next to the middle are two groups of battles with dogs. On the right a group of strangely dressed horsemen (probably Hungary). The terrain falls abruptly and opens into a wide river valley, where the battle takes place. The foreground and the middle ground are connected by deeply moving groups. With their backs turned to the beholder, the Habsburg forces are staggered in two "waves". On the left is the Sava, which winds its way into the depths of the image in a great curve, and then flows into the Danube. The left wing is formed by strong cavalry on the front and rear lines. After the middle change small cavalry and infantry units. The camp of the Turks is visible in the back of the Turkish front. The city and fortress of Belgrade appears at the end of the mountain range. In front of the battlefield, a gray, clear blue sky blends in some places. Behind Belgrade appears the first pale yellow of the rising sun.
