Description
Depiction of battle, horsemen and foot soldiers in ancient armour, helmets with feather decorations and capes blowing in the wind, horses galloping and lying on the ground with their mouths open, fighting with swords, also naked men, faces distorted in horror

Possibly part of the auction of the Dr. M. Waldeck collection; auction at Amsler & Ruthard on 14 February 1887 and the following days, sale to "Eck"; auction at Rudolph Lepke's auction house, Berlin, on 14 March 1905, sale to "Greve"; probably during the war, at the latest since 9 July 1945 until today Lippische Landesbibliothek Detmold, initially handed over in trust by the British Military Government Detmold, since 20 July 1945 officially handed over for safekeeping.
