Description
The five chipboard boxes were made of spruce, fir and larch wood and are painted with stencil-like representations.
Provenance
The Städtisches Museum Göttingen bought the five chip boxes in June 1940 from the master chimney sweep Johannes Düker together with 16 other objects for a total of 70 Reichsmark.
Johannes Düker moved to Wöhlerstraße 6 in Göttingen in June 1940. Several Jewish families lived in this house until their expulsion in 1939. According to statements by the Düker family, some of the former residents' properties had remained in the house and were sold on by Johannes Düker. It is not yet clear whether these chip boxes belong to this group. The chip boxes do not have any ownership notes or stamps.
